Where to start ?

There are a thousand ways to start learning Swedish and I will be explaining them in time.

The first option: Svenska För Invandrare, Swedish for Immigrants.

I attended SFI in Hermods Institutet in Uppsala in 2009.

These courses are designed for immigrants who are in urgent need of learning the language; be able to speak it and find a job immediately. This is the best part of it.

My classmates were very attentive and teacher was very very experienced. I can safely say that I learned the basics of this language in SFI.

Since I was a student at the time and had a residence permit, I attended SFI for free.

The best way is to contact your local administration about how and when to enroll and whether you are required to pay any fees.
